The battery pack could be slightly better covered,To stop the ingress of water, At the top. Maybe the on/off button could be on the bottom of the LED lamp, as the thumb is bigger than the finger, And would also avoid any potential water ingress. The glass lens, In front of the LED is excellent, and provides a very clean light output, As some lesser head torches, Have a plastic lens, that becomes scratched and cloudy, over time. The top head band gives good stable support, Very good for cycling. It`s so nice that the HA40 uses FOUR AA batteries, Great run time, And no odd multiples of batteries. Pairs of batteries, Is one of my Main points of purchase.
Description
The Nitecore HA40 head torch has a maximum output of 1000 lumens from the Cree XM-L2 LED and is powered by 4 x AA batteries which are housed in a separate battery case, to distribute the weight evenly and provided comfortable wear.
The HA40 die-cast unibody is made from rugged aerospace grade aluminium alloy, making it durable and sturdy whilst still lightweight. The seamless unibody design also allows for excellent heat dissipation.
The Nitecore HA40 features a flood lighting system, providing a wide angle beam. The headlamp offers five brightness levels, ranging from 1 to 1000 lumens, plus three special modes, strobe, SOS and beacon. In addition, the head torch has a 180º tilting mechanism for multi-angle illumination.
