Explorer series lights utilises a unique dual electronic switch design. Switch 1 is responsible for turning the light on and off plus accessing strobe and SOS modes. Switch 2 controls the brightness adjustment. In addition there is a hidden turbo mode, accessed pressing and holding switch 2.

Explorer series flashlights incorporate a red power indicator light, which displays battery voltage and remaining power. Each time the batteries are inserted, the power indicator will blink in sequence to show the current battery voltage. The indicator light also displays the remaining power, blinking once every five seconds when power levels reach 50% and blinking three times every three seconds when the batteries are near exhaustion. In addition the red led can be turned to constant on for a low level light that will not degrade the users night vision.
