This diffuser was purchased for a Nitecore EA41. It is constructed from rubber and would offer some impact resistance if dropped. There is a little light loss but the total flood light produced makes up for the loss. It is a very useful accessory for the flashlight. In fact, as it makes the low mode even lower I would suggest the flashlight would be even more useful; especially for someone who appreciates low brightness settings. As the diffuser totally removes all traces of a 'hotspot' in the beam, dazzling light reflected back to the user isn't an issue at all. The light is scattered at pretty much 180 degrees and, on the higher settings illuminates a reasonable sized room easily. Outdoors it works as well, depending on ambient light and you have the option of removing it if you want to see further. I recommend attaching the diffuser to the base of the flashlight with paracord or similar to prevent accidentally dropping or losing it. Highly recommended! | |
