Best torch I’ve had from Nitecore so far or even at all. This torch is just perfect for what I need it for which is everyday checks restaurants, theatres, cafes and office building while conducting pest control servicing. The biggest reason I’m a huge fan of this type is because you can lock it so it won’t turn on accidentally in your pocket which is huge benefit for me as I always had my torches turning on in my pocket accidentally. The battery life is awesome and even though I use it everyday heavily, although mainly on the second bright mode which is more than enough for me to find droppings of mice I only have to charge your torches like every 2 months or so which is awesome. Another great benefit is that it remembers the last mode which I know is nothing new when it comes to modern torches but I only purchased one 2 weeks prior to this only to find that the first one I had to click through the modes every time which was a big negative so I went and bought this EDC31 and haven’t looked back since. My next purchase will be the slim ones I quite like and interested to test. I also like the slim one where you have green, red and white lights. That’s a winner one but I’m yet to try it.

I love nitecore. Unfortunately this model came with a bent pocket clip and the tail switch was hyper sensitive, activating under slight pressure resulting in a light that is a bit unruly. For a light this powerful you need to have confidence in the controls so you don’t accidentally blind yourself or others. I returned this, and thanks to the team for quick replies and great customer service. I’m going to hold out for the updated P series lights! Hopefully they come before this winter.

Excellent item. Battery life very impressive. Size just right. Brightness very good. UI very simple and natural. The lanyard supplied is designed to go through the pockey clip but the pocket clip can obviously detach so if you were hoping to thread lanyard through a belt loop to keep the torch secure if it came off the clip that won't work..clip is sturdy and has good retention but I have caught it once and the torch popped out...luckily it fell into my pocket. Lanyard hole on the actual unit would be great and would have been five stars..but this issue won't stop me using it and is my current favorite edc torch. Highly Recommended.

Description

The Nitecore EDC31 flashlight has a maximum output of 3500 lumens from the NiteLab UHi LED and is powered by a built-in 3800mAh li-ion battery. The torch is rechargeable via USB-C and features an LED display on the tail end to show the remaining battery power:

  • 4 LEDs = 75% - 100%
  • 3 LEDs = 50% - 75%
  • 2 LEDs = 25% - 50%
  • 1 LED = 0% - 25%

The latest release in Nitecore’s popular EDC series, the EDC31 offers peak performance, seamless operation and a compact design. Weighing just 100g, the torch is comfortable to carry with the included pocket clip or wrist lanyard.

The torch provides 6 brightness levels including a 3500 lumen Lumin Shield floodlight mode and 1500 lumen Search spotlight mode with a beam distance reaching 380 meters. Please note, both outputs can only be accessed momentarily by either fully or half pressing the tail switch to access Lumin Shield and Search respectively. When the switch is released, the light will turn off.

Lockout mode is available with a quick and easy to use sliding button, providing full or half lockout modes to suit your application. Additionally, the EDC31 has an incorporated Advanced Temperature Regulation (ATR) module, advanced Power Cut-Off (APC) technology, a highly efficient constant current circuit (non-PWM) and optical lenses with double-sided scratch resistant coating.

Brightness Levels:
Lumin Shield (Floodlight): 3500 lumens
Search (Spotlight): 1500 lumens
High: 1100 lumens – 4 hrs runtime
Mid: 300 lumens – 5 hrs runtime
Low: 70 lumens – 24 hrs runtime
Ultralow: 5 lumens – 57 hrs runtime

Advanced temperature regulation (ATR) regulates the output of the EDC31 according to the working and ambient temperature to maintain optimal performance while preventing the LED from overheating. The outputs are measured in total of runtime, including output at reduced levels due to temperature or protection mechanisms in the design, causing the brightness level to drop down.

Maximum beam distance 380 meters (Search mode), waterproof to IP68 and resistant to impacts up to 2 meters.

Includes: USB-C charging cable, lanyard, pocket clip.
