The Nitecore UT27 MB is the most advanced trail running headlamp from Nitecore yet, built around four distinct light sources to handle everything a race or night run can throw at you. At the core are two quad-core MCT UHE LEDs offering three colour temperatures: a 3,000K warm light (CRI 98) for cutting through rain, fog and snow, a 4,500K neutral white (CRI 85) for technical terrain like steep or muddy slopes, and a 6,500K cool white (CRI 73) for flat, open ground. Together they deliver up to 800 lumens and throw light out to 168 metres.

What sets the UT27 MB apart is its main light level red light, purpose built for the red light only sections used in certain trail races. Rather than a dim auxiliary red glow meant only for gear checks, it puts out a genuine 150 lumens with a 70-metre beam, giving runners real visibility of the trail underfoot and ahead, with three brightness levels plus SOS and slow-flashing modes.

Unlike traditional red lights, it is designed to illuminate rocks, roots, and uneven terrain underfoot, allowing runners to react more quickly and maintain a steady pace. The long-range lens also makes it easier to identify trail markers and route changes further ahead for smoother, more confident navigation. In addition, the dedicated red auxiliary lights provide 2–10 lumens for close-range tasks such as checking gear or signalling but are not intended for continuous illumination. When powered by the included HLB1500 battery pack, the red light delivers up to 21 hours of runtime in Low mode (10 lumens).

The UT27 MB also features three selectable colour temperatures of white light output; each colour temperature is optimised for different environments:

The featured Turbo mode delivers a maximum output of 800 lumens with a beam distance of up to 168 meters.

The UT27 MB incorporates Nitecore's TrueVision+ multi-faceted optical lens system, producing a flood beam of over 100° with a 44 mm light-emitting surface for wide, even illumination.

Power is supplied by the included Nitecore HLB1500 rechargeable battery pack, which offers a 1500mAh capacity for extended runtimes and efficient performance. Combined with the MCT UHE LEDs, it provides up to 14.5 hours of runtime at 100 lumens. For added convenience, the UT27 MB is also compatible with three AAA alkaline batteries, ensuring reliable power when recharging is not possible. A glow-in-the-dark battery compartment allows for quick identification and easier battery replacement in low-light conditions.

Designed with practicality in mind, the UT27 MB features a 90° adjustable bracket for precise beam positioning and a 180° wide-opening battery compartment for fast and effortless battery changes.

Operation is simple thanks to the intuitive dual-button interface. The W button controls the Neutral White and Cool White modes, while the Y button activates the Warm White mode. To access the red light, simply double-press either button while the headlamp is switched off. A built-in lockout mode prevents accidental activation during transport or storage and can be enabled by pressing and holding both buttons simultaneously for two seconds.

Weighing just 74g, the UT27 MB is exceptionally lightweight, making it ideal for trail running, hiking, and other outdoor activities. The included multi-purpose clip offers four versatile mounting options, including attachment to a cap brim or backpack. The lightweight headband features a reflective pattern to improve visibility in low-light conditions, while its hollow construction enhances breathability and comfort during extended use.

Also included is a diffusing stuff sack, allowing the UT27 MB to be transformed into a compact camping lantern that produces a soft, ambient light. The bag also doubles as a convenient storage pouch when the headlamp is not in use.

Built for demanding outdoor environments, the Nitecore UT27 MB is rated IP66 for water and dust resistance and is impact-resistant up to 1 meter, ensuring dependable performance in challenging conditions.
